There's a bug report about pam_smbpass.so missing from the latest
Samba errata packages for Valhalla, but that doesn't prevent you
from changing your password like you described. It only gives an
error and fails to update your SMB pasword in you've had pam_smbpass
enabled. See bug #76745. It's easy to modify the package spec file
and include the module again.
