In the message you topposted above of I saw a mentioning of Sendmail. Port 143 is for IMAP. Is that installed and enabled in (x)inetd? ********** Yes, xinetd, imap, and sendmail are all running. And, imap is enabled in xinetd. Can you think of anything else that would cause something to block port 143? I haven't installed anything that didn't come with the standard RH 8.0 dist. Am I right in thinking that my router configuration should have no effect on the outcome of the netstat command? Obviously it would stop packets from outside if configured to do so, but shouldn't it still say that I am listening on port 143 of my server (internally) regardless of my router setup?
