Just get an Ethernet hub or switch. Hubs are cheaper--although only
marginally, these days. Switches are more desirable, but the difference
probably won't matter to you in a home network. The server plugs into
this, as do any other computers on your network.

If you've an Internet connection you wish to share, you can put two
network adapters in the server, plugging one into the DSL/Cable modem
(or ony one adapter and an analog modem connected to the server) and the
other into the hub/switch.

Or--probably more recommended--get if you're using Cable or DSL, get
something like a LinkSys Cable/DSL Router Hub and use it for your 'bastion'
firewall and DHCP server.

Cheers,
