Apache2 auth_ldap software

Hi, I am trying to authenticate Apache 2.0.40 (Redhat 8) against OpenLDAP.       I found in Internet auth_ldap-1.6.0-4 rpm (but for RH 7.3) and installed it.     Unfortunately, when starting Apache (with everything set up) it cries: Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/mod_auth_ldap.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/mod_auth_ldap.so: undefined symbol: ap_user_id I think it is because of the Apache 2 version (which was introduced in RH 8, not 7.3)...   any suggestions ?
