Consider the following two images:

        http://vidiot.com/Browser-Linux.jpg
        http://vidiot.com/Browser-Windoze.jpg

Both images are using Netscape 7.0. Both are of the same web page. Both
are on a screen resolution of 1280x1024.

You can read the Windoze version. It is eye strain under Linux.

I have both Verdana and Arial TrueType fonts on my system. The web page
is programmed for Verdana,Arial,Hevetica. To make sure I had Verdana and
Arial on my system, I modified one of my web pages into a test page and
created three paragraphs, each using one of the three fonts. All paragraphs
were different, indicating that the appropriate font was found and all three
paragraphs came out the same pixel height. Font size for my test paragraphs
were left at the default.

Because NBC is using style sheets and are probably setting the size in
pixels (I'm only guessing, as I have not downloaded their style sheet to
make sure), the Linux version of Netscape and X are having a rough time
rendering the page correctly.

Is there anything I can do to get X to render the TrueType fonts better?
I certainly do not want to have to go to the Windoze box to view pages
like this.

OS: RedHat 7.1

Thanks in advance.
