The fix is down near the bottom. Just tried it and it fixed the problem!

I can confirm it's KDE only. I've installed 8.0 cleanly on 2 machines
and the screensavers work in Gnome but not KDE. The screen blanks if if
"require password" is checked then you must enter your password to
un-blank the screen, but you never get an actual screensaver.
