Thanks, naturally I tried this _before_ asking the list ;-> but this option simply adds the networks to ip_allow. Somehow my sendmail.cf is not configured to honor ip_allow (nor access.db, nor relay_domains). I believe I need to reinstall sendmail, turn on relaying, and then add vhost.
