Hi, I looked at that program and I don't think it's what I need.
I didn't install lilo or grub when I installed redhat. I use a boot disk and I can start up linux fine. I also have windows2000 and XP which are selections on the NT loader. I would like to add Linux to the list. I have looked at all the mini-how to's and they say to copy the linux boot sector to a file bootsect.lnx and move it to my C drive and modify my boot.ini file. When I do this linux doesn't boot. Could it be that I need to reinstall with lilo or grub? I have copied the boot sector from my linux partition and from the floppy with no success using this command: # dd if=/dev/hda2 of=/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1 and # dd if=/dev/fd0 of=/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1 Is there anything else I can do besides reinstalling RedHat with Lilo or Grub? thanks, Joel On Tue, 15 Oct 2002 08:43:49 +0200 Langa Kentane <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Get a program called bootpart that you can use > for this.
