I understand from the "info mgetty" that faxes are in G3 format when saved in the /var/spool/fax/incoming/ I would like to view them on a Win-doze machine using some Win program. Do you know how I can do that. My system is networked with Linux and all others using Win98 I could get it onto their machine either by mailing it to them as an attachment - put them on the public samba partition or something like that. The conversion from G3 format to Win Fax format is what I like to know. I have tried to simply rename them to .fax or .tiff as they might be able to read the format but that does not work. Gary mentioned that they are usually in .tiff format, but it looks like mgetty is generating another format. I use mgetty to answer all my modems and I am quite happy with that program. It has a very useful info file system. I only could not find anything about Linux=>win Thanks you for your help Mettavihari -------------------------------------------- A saying of the Buddha from http://metta.lk/ -------------------------------------------- This is the only Way.
