Hi all, I am having difficulties setting up a scsi tape drive for use under Redhat 7.3 and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
During the installation, Redhat detected the LSI/Symbios 53c875 scsi card, and loaded the appropriate driver. The commands 'lspci and 'lsmod' show that the driver has been loaded, but when I do a 'mt -f /dev/st0 status', it doesn't seem to detect the tape drive. The tape drive is set to target 6, am I using the wrong device name? The scsi cable and tape drive have be tested on another server, so there shouldn't be a hardware issue. What I am thinking is maybe the correct device link has not been created for the tape drive. Am I close to the right answer? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :) Paul -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
