Dear Fellow Wearers of the Red Hat,

The 7.x Red Hat releases have omitted my favorite monitoring tool:
swatch. I know there are other ones out there, but I have spent a
considerable amount of time maintaining a .swatchrc file and I'm not
changing unless I need to. (If you'd like to share perceived pros and
cons of swatch and other log file watchers, go ahead and reply...)

I almost always maintain RPM purity; that is, I'd rather not just untar
some files somewhere and invite incompatibilities, now or in the
future.

I see that swatch-3.0.4-1mdk.noarch.rpm is in the Mandrake Cooker
distribution, as is the corresponding src.rpm. I'm wondering, though,
if I will like the way it integrates with Red Hat 7.2.

If anyone has experience setting up swatch with Red Hat 7.x, do
enlighten me/us.

Regards,

  Jonathan
