beats the heck out of me.  i have a dozen people logged in, using this
shell and it's got some serious quirks, at least for me.  but i did
get the ksh93 that an earlier poster pointed me at (when i went
to rpmfind.net, i should have searched for "ksh93", not just "ksh".
argh.)

and that version of ksh93 works just fine, so i'm a happy camper.
