For a long time I've used SCCS on my UnixWare system to keep track of my
system specific files as I massage them over time.

Now that I'm runnin' a new Linux server I was gonna try and move to the '90s
for source code control and use CVS to do this same process BUT, it can't be
done as root and before I found a workaround, I thought I'd ask what other
people have done in this sort of situation?

I *could* use RCS and keep them in a local place but I think it'd be
'cleaner' to do so in a more organized place.

So, is there a "consensus" on the "best" way to keep track of these changes?

Thanks for your time!
