Hi Chris,

CD-RW = re-writable CD's, i.e. you can erase and re-use
CD-R = Writable, ie. you cannot erase or overwrite

It depends on your write, and what you're writing as to which you want to use.

I usually write ISO's etc to CD-R cos they're a lot cheaper.

I use a CD-RW for moving work between the office and home as it's basically 
the same data only updated each time.

BTW, some people even use CD-R for this too as it gives them a crude RCS 
system.
