I'm running Red Hat Linux 7.3 Personal. I recently talked with tech agents with my local internet provider. They do no offer support Linux, but one agent told me that customers do run Linux with the internet provider's cable internet service, but without the tech support. Another agent told me that in order to run Linux with the cable internet service I would have to configure an IP address automatically. How do I do this? If I get the cable internet service, why won't I be able to just hook up the cable modem, install it, and use the internet? Any help is greatly appreciated.
