I have installed mySQL created a DB, configured apache and PHP properly, but for some reason I cannot connect to my DB through PHP. I am trying to set up the phpBB2 message board and it keeps telling me cannot connect to db. Do i need to set cetain permissions on the actual mySQL directory or some other directory? My mySQL installation is a custom install not from an RPM so the directory is a little different than normal. Thanks.
