I have the same SCSI controller AIC-7XXX on my Dell 2400 PowerEdge and I
was able to load Redhat 7.3 without any problems.

You might look and see if you can do an expert install and see if there
is an option to load the old aic7xxx driver instead of the new one. I
see the old aic7xxx driver module is included in the kernel after I
installed, but I don't know if it is included in the installer kernel.

You might also try temporarily disconnecting your Jaz drive and/or your
tape drive and see if the kernel panic still happens.
