Ah, depends... If you're running two CPUs: No. OpenBSD's MP support is one
of the few things that 'isn't there' yet (same goes for the Sparc64/sun4u
support, though apparently they're making progress). With a single CPU:
Possibly - and definitely over Red Hat, as the latest "official" Sparc
version is RHL 6.2 (and I wouldn't use Aurora for a firewall just yet...
:-} )
I haven't used it on the SS20 yet, as mine are dual CPU. I have OpenBSD on
an IPX (where it definitely beats Linux - this was my first firewall), on
a Classic (the firewall) and on a SS5/170 (TurboSparc, which still seems to
be a bit dodgy under Linux).  I'm happy - performance is good and
documentation is excellent[0]. Plus OpenBSD is specifically geared towards
security - it's their goal. OpenBSD 3.1 is due out June 1st.
Nonetheless, I'm still experimenting with Linux on Sparc as well - it's
fun...
