I think what I dislike about Qmail is that its reputation has grown, while the software has not. Qmail's design was really outstanding several years ago, but now it's pretty standard among MTA's on UNIX. Qmail is fairly good if the only thing you need is a fast mail relay, but it has never developed beyond that. If you need any interesting features (SSL, authenticated SMTP, LDAP), you'll have to apply unsupported patches to the software, and many of the good ones conflict with each other. If you're already running Postfix, there's no good reason I can think of to switch to Qmail :)
