 If you managed to get in and reconfigure it, then it's moot :o)

 If you're using XFree86 4.x, then it looks for XF86Config-4 first,
so you can have both (the config file format changed slightly with
version 4, so if you have a choice of servers as in Red Hat, you
need to distinguish the files).
