and assuming you've installed the kernel source, please take a look at;

Another thing to be aware of when installing kernels via rpm is documented 
at:

specifically to turn on bridging you'll need to go to "Networking Options" 
and from there choose "y" or "m" at "802.1d Ethernet Bridging".
