When a system doesn't boot, what commands are useful to boot it back up? I'm thinking fsck, etc.
It is a RH7 box (ext2). The system loads the kernel, then when it tries to mount the drives it goes into a system check. The system check can't fix the inode/bad blocks on the HDD. Regardless of what drive I boot, the same thing happens. So it dumps me into the manual mode and tells me to run fsck on the drives. Can anyone give me some basic troubleshooting tips to see if I can get the box to boot? It just drops me at the repair-fs prompt.
