Hi folks I've installed Red Hat 7.2 succesfuly (nearly) on my Dell PC (Optiplex 240). It works fine apart from a few niggles. One of the more serious of these is that I can't display X windows from other Unix/Linux computers on my PC! This is rather weird and I've never encountered this problem with Linux before! I try and open up a window, and it just says that it can't open the display. Does anybody have any idea what's happening? I've tryed the normal:
setenv DISPLAY mymachine.geog.soton.ac.uk:0.0 on the remote machine. and xhost+ remotemachine on my machine And it doesn't work when I use telnet -- although its OK when I use ssh!
