I'm happy to say that my cheapo 2-port Linksys KVM works like a charm and I
regularly flip between my Windows and Linux systems and I've never had an
issue.

Some issues, however, are not the total fault of the KVM - you may be having
system issues that no KVM can address so before you commit to a new KVM you
should really make sure it's returnable if it does not resolve your problem.
