For starters, check to make sure you've actually got a link light on the back
of your network card.  I would be really, really surprised if you suddenly lost
TWO Ethernet adapters in 2 days without frying some other part of your setup.
Then do a cold power down, and on power up, check to see if the devices come 
up.  They'll appear in your boot log, be mentioned in dmesg, and be present on
the bus - look down the /proc tree.

What happened 2 days ago?  I've seen lots of messages that I didn't read too
closely about editing configuration files.  If the hardware fried, no config
change will help...  Can you restore from your backups to the state you were
at 2 days ago and see what comes up?
