I'm surprised that had any effect on Xconfigurator - I would think that only mattered for 3D support. > a little different than yours > Section "Device" > Identifier "ATI Radeon AGP" > Driver "radeon" > BoardName "Unknown" > Option "nodri" > I don't thin the Identifier and BoardName matter, but should > I change option to "AGPMode" "4" I don't think BoardName matters. The AGPMode depends on what your motherboard supports. I have a 4x (speed) AGP motherboard. I don't know whether AGPMode has any effect if you're not using 3D. You'll get faster renderings if you use the highest AGP mode your motherboard supports (1, 2, or 4). The "nodri" option says NOT to try to take advantage of 3D support so when you do try to get 3D support, that will need to be removed. The program "glxinfo" info will tell you whether or not you have 3D support: Here's the first couple lines from executing glxinfo: name of display: :0.0 display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: Yes The "direct rendering: Yes" tells me that I have 3D support working. Yours should say "direct rendering: No" right now. > I'll worry about 3d support later right now I have to fix the > windows side so the learning company games quit having stack overflows. > People are always saying Linux is so much harder.
