Xcdroast is a GUI front end for cdrecord. The cdrecord homepage should 
have drive compatibility status. I know that the Sony CRX145E is 
supported, not sure about yours.

I haven't used windows in some time. I don't miss it. About the only 
application I missed was Quicken. I have it working (minimally) under 
wine. There are linux programs similar to quicken, but most just aren't 
quite ready for prime time.
