What Trond and a couple of others seem to be saying is that the Ximian stuff has some friction with some of the Red Hat tools and packages, and that they duplicate each other in things like GNOME. Since RH has made Evolution packages at ftp://people.redhat.com/hp/gnomehide/7.2/RPMS/, then you might as well stick to using the RH tools and packages when at all possible *IF* what you want is a system that's as easy to install and maintain as possible. This is my case, and probably yours too. You could use the Ximian GNOME and other tools from Ximian, and many people do; I've heard recently that they work well. But that will take more work and is probably a case of "if you don't know whether you want/need to do that, you don't." Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. >I'm a newbie, and am keen to learn from other peoples experience. Heh. So are most of us. :) -- Rodolfo J.
