If you want Evolution, IMO, you'll be better off with Ximian's gnome

Install only the KDE libraries so you can run KDE applications, but then run
the Ximian installer to pick up everything else.

Red Carpet is RPM based.  What gets annoying is up2date - RC and up2date piss
each other off and want to stomp all over each other.  I've got a script that
finds all Ximian packages on your system and then updates your RHN config to
exclude those packages from being updated.  It means you get a big exclude
list but it does allow you to cleanly pick up those Red Hat released security
updates on a timely basis.  Holler if you want the script.

Can't rememember, but you should go to the Evolution mailing list and ask
there.  A relatively busy list (comparable to this one) but quite valuable.
Go to http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo and you can browse the Evo
archives.  Alternatively, a quick Google search for "evolution eudora import"
will give you some hits...
