Hi, I have compiled new kernels before and never had a problem, but I am trying to add advanced routing and routing policies to a new router I am setting up using 7.1 I am starting off by running make mrproper, make menuconfig (adding in the stuff I want), make dep, make clean, make bzImage, make modules and make modules_install. all with no errors and everything seems fine so I copy the system.map and the new kernel to the boot directory and link the system.map to the new system map and edit /etc/lilo.conf so I can boot from the kernel and the old kernel and run /sbin/lilo and then reboot and the system hangs when it trys to load the kernel. What am I forgetting to do or is there a problem with putting the advance routing or routing policies in the 2.4 kernel that comes with Red Hat 7.1. I feel like an idiot because I have compiled Kernels before but this one just will not work, I have done it 4 times now. Any help would be greatly appreicated since I am about ready to take a hammer to this box :O).
