Have you mapped all your smb users to your linux login accounts using smbadduser $LINUXUSERNAME:$WINDOWSUSERNAME and assigned password using smbpasswd
smbadduser usually takes care of setting the smb passwd but I have had to do it using smbpasswd before Also verify that your /etc/samba/smb.conf shows encrypt passwords = yes if you set it up this way, you shouldnt have to change any settings on your Windows box, My whole family logs in this way and uses bat files in /home/netlogon to map specific shares and printers for different users. if you need to see copies of my config files just let me know Corey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Justin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, December 04, 2001 10:13 PM Subject: Re: What's that issue with Samba passwords again. > On Tuesday 04 December 2001 09:40 pm, you wrote: > > I shoulda kept all the old posts. > > > > I'm trying to get Samba running at home on my RH7.2 box so my wife can use > > the laser printer and store some docs on the big drive.
