Yes, you can use both.  Just make sure the proper ports are available.
The current uw-imap packages that RH ships are linked against openssl
libs to provide the POP3/IMAP over SSL capabilities.

Windows: Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Mulberry

You know, the encryption key.  The default value is what's in the stock 
imapd.pem file.
