Having upgraded to from 7.1 to 7.2, printing, which was working now has stopped. I go through the printconf routine and all looks fine, except the test print fails. I get a message saying, "There was a problem print the test page". I'd applied all changes, of course.
I examine /etc/printcap and find it blank. printconf seems not to be writing a new printcap file. When I boot, of course, I get a message saying: Starting LPD: No printers defined. What EVER am I missing? Have I learned nothing in three years with RedHat? (End of venting :) Any help will, of course, be much appreciated. -- John P.
