I've tried the same configuration on Red Hat 7.1, with the same (lack of) results. The grayscale print quality with the st800 driver on 7.1 is excellent, but I've yet to see it print color or print as fast as it should, except from Windows. I suppose this explains why Red Hat says the ESC/P2 emulators are not supported. I'm at a loss to explain why a the top-rated inkjet at linuxprinting.com is so problematic on Red Hat. This model is said to be very fast with top-quality output using the stp driver -- and under win32, it certainly is. Faster than a lot of laser printers, in fact. Very disappointing.
