Hi:
I am instaling a network, so I have a modem rack (8 phones) connected to a
linux box (Rh6.2 + updates) witch my users accounts. This mail server will
be the authentification server of my users and my mail server. This server
is not going to give any other services. So I have another server (Rh
6.2+updates) witch is my firewall with two interfaces on it splitting my
network. Here I have transparent proxy (the proxy of my internal network),
dns, sendmail, ipchains..
So I need to install another server who will give www and ftp services, but
I dont know if it's better to put it into my private network (192.168.x.x)
and filtering with ipchains in my proxy server or put it outside my private
network. My questions are:
1. Where is the best place (more secure) to put a WWW and FTP server of
network, inside or outside my firewall.
2. Where is the best place (more secure) to put my mail server (I mean the
Pc wiht the rack of modems and
with all my usres) inside or outside my firewall.
