IIRC the ping -U thing is because RH7.0 is "2.4 Ready" - in this
instance the ping command is set up for a 2.4 kernel.

Do you have demand dial set up on RP3 (Advanced tab - bring connection
up and down automatically)? Whenever I've used RP3 to set up demand
dial, I've noticed that it breaks the panel icon. It commonly
segfaulted on startup, and the connection indicator would lose sync with
what the modem was actually doing. (This is with the RP3 that is on the
CD - I've since moved my modem to a seperate firewall box, so I don't
know if RP3 has been updated since then.)

Cheers,

James
