I definitly have to find time to install RH 7.0 on a machine here.  I
don't know for sure if this will work on 7.0, but you can try something
like "echo KDE > /etc/sysconfig/desktop" and see if that does the trick.

If the /etc/X11/prefdm is the same in 7.0 as it is in 6.2, then not
having the desktop file will result in running the first dm it finds of
gdm, kdm, and xdm, in that order.
