First this:
I am new to Linux, but I *hope* nevertheless that I didn't make any
mistakes in the following advice ... the following configuration works on
my machine (with RedHat 6.1 on it): I can't guarantee it will work on
yours ...

Linda, I do not think it's too complicated ... I had exactly the same
problems some months ago with Pine as you're having now, and I could fix
them all (thanks to some friendly folks from this list)

This first:
I use Pine, fetchmail and procmail .... I do not need sendmail for the
following settings.

Go into your Pine SETUP-CONFIGURATION, scroll down and you will probably
find this following area (this is how it looks in my Pine
SETUP-CONFIGURATION: and it's perhaps a good idea to simply copy the
values you think you want to have with the necessary changes for your own
mail address etc) It should be possible to add all the following stuff
manually (I do not know what Pine-Version you have - try to get the latest
pine-rpm and install it if your current pine-version doesen't work with
these settings):

Pine SETUP-CONFIGURATION (Part of it ...):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

default-composer-hdrs = From:
                           Reply-To:
                           Attchmnt:
                           Subject:
                           Bcc:
                           Cc:
                           To:
customized-hdrs = From: Wolfgang Pfeiffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
                           X-Mailer: Pine 4.33

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and the following part of your Pine SETUP-CONFIGURATION perhaps looks
something like this?:
----------------------------------------------------
user-domain = localhost.localdomain
-------------------------------------------------

if yes, then look how it is looking in my SETUP-CONFIGURATION:
-------------------------------------------------------------
user-domain = tesionmail.de
-------------------------------------------------------------
this 'tesionmail.de' is the second part of my email address after the '@'
character -- change it to the appropriate value of your mail-address.

this is my .fetchmailrc (I changed some values for the posting):
-----------------------------------------------------
defaults
poll pop.blablamail.de
protocol POP3
username your_username_for_your_ISP
password donttellit
mda "procmail -d my_linux_user_login_name"
fetchall
no keep
-------------------------------------------------------

Again: try to run some of the most recent Pine-Versions (4.31 or so or
later ...) because if I remember correctly the older Pine-versions were
not so easy to handle in respect to changing your 'From' header as they
are now.

Let us know in case it will not work ...

Good luck.

Regards.
