Bernard and others,
  This is funny.  If I ping "www.apache.org" I get a response.  If it place
the ip address returned by the DNS from the ping I get no response.  If I
enter www.apache.de in the URL of netscape I get the web site and if I enter
www.apache.org I get no connection.  Seems as if the US mirror is down.  At
least I now know the main org's URL.

  I was worried as I could not get to slashdot this morning either and I have
just recovered from a breakin and reinstall of my masq server.  Sweat beads
were rolling just a tad.
