The solution was to step back and start over. After one of my more
frustrating weekends spent with linux (there have been several over the
years:) I reinstalled perl 5.005 rpm and the ImageMagick and
ImageMagic-devel rpms and guess what the %*%^@($(%_%*&@!^$#_Q$( perl
module is contained in the -devel rpm itself I had been screwing with
trying to install the thing to no avail and it was there all the time.
Well, at least after the ImageMagick-devel rpm was installed well into
the process BTW.
I repeat for those who may come after me with the same blinders on :
The Image::Magick perl module Image/Magick.pm is in the
ImageMagick-devel-4.2.9-3.i386.rpm
It works well with of course ImageMagick-4.2.9-3.i386.rpm
I am using under perl-5.00503-12 installed from the
perl-5.00503-12.i386.rpm
