I would think that you'd need to finish that command line with "< get *"
As was noted, it looks like Ben is trying to redirect the output rather
than redirect input to the program.
Ben...try using
ncftp ftp://ftp.redhat.com/redhat/redhat-6.2/i386/RedHat/RPMS/ < get *
and see what happens.
