After reading many posts on this list, I decided to try to get Linux to
print to my Stylus 880 on a WinME PC.
Installed printtool, set up printer as Stylus 800 @ 720 x 720:
Text - fine
Postscript:
Gobbledegook. (Blank pages, funyy characters - u know the drill)
Set the driver back to Epson Stylus 800 @ 360 x 360
Text: fine
Postscript - READABLE - I can read the test page but there are some blank
lines every 5mm or so. Getting close.
After sniffing around, it seems that the print filters are in the
ghostscript directory with a .upp file extension.
Looked at GhostView home page and sourceforge, but I can't find an *880.upp
file anywhere.
If I'm on the wrong track, please tell me, but if I'm on the right track,
does anyone know where I could find a print filter specifically for the
Stylus 880? I get the feeling the 800 drivers aren't close enough.
OR ALTERNATIVELY
Anyone got the 880 going properly in color and would like to share some
pointers?
Thanks
