I use both, not for the same purpose. Win4Lin is definitely more light weight than
VMware and
running applications like Visual Studio etc. is very efficient. However, as stated, it
does not
implement a complete OS. The main drawback I can see so far : it does not provide a
network
interface on its own but rather passes network request to Linux directly. This means
that all
network CLIENT programs work fine but no SERVER apps is supported and you cannot use
Netbios for
browsing around.
On the other hand, VMware has full network support but it is kind of heavy in term of
memory and
processing resources.
