Bah.
While it makes sense, IMNSHO Solaris should be pressed to be compatible
with GNU tar. GNU tar is far superior to Sun's tar, and now there are far
more people using GNU tar than there ever have been Solaris tar users.
One of the first things I do on any Solaris machine I get is install GNU
tar (the very first being that I install gzip).
