okay they seem to detect here:
hda: Maxtor 91360D8, ATA DISK drive
hdb: CD-ROM CDU701, ATAPI CDROM drive
hdc: CD-R/RW RW7060A, ATAPI CDROM drive
hdd: IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI, ATAPI FLOPPY drive
but here is error:

unable to read partition table
would seem to hint I have a setting for my zip drive ( which is hdd) that is
causing conflict with everything else?
