RH vs debian base?

Hello,   I'm a newbie that just installed RH7 and wanted to know what the difference was between RH versions and debian versions. Does RH7 have more updated versions of drivers? I heard that the Apt-Get is a better choice over RPM because of the way it resolves dependencies.   Not trying to start a flame, just want to learn the reasons so many distributions exists.   Thanks   Frank
