You can't set DMA for a partition. So "hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda1" is illegal. Try
"hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda" instead. -You can run hdparm -t|-f on a partition
though.- If this fails your hard disk/motherboard is not supporting DMA. The
standard kernels contain support for DMA.
