Should I be using Gnome's Printer Tool or something else to accomplish this?
I am using Red Hat 7 and Gnome and wish to print to the NetWare 4.11 server
named SERV.
The print server name is HP5SI_SERVICE. The print queue name on SERV is
HP_5SI
The printer is an HP LaserJet 5Si connected via JetDirect card.
The user name of GUEST should be used for printing.
In the Printer Tool I am presented with the following fields but I don't
know what the syntax is:
Names:
Spool Directory: /var/spool/lpd/lp
Printer Server Name:
Print Queue Name:
I have tried entering just SERV as the printer server name and HP_5SI as the
print queue name. This sends lpd into an endless loop doing something when I
try to print. Not sure what it's doing and it never prints.
If you know of a web site that discusses this in detail I would appreciate
that as well.
Thanks for your help.
