John -

I asked recently about the potential performance gain of recompiling
XFree, and I don't think anyone piped up. Before I go to the trouble,
do you have any experience with this (i.e., is it worth the hassle for
the possible gain)?

I've compiled X before, and I'm not anxious to go down that road again
if it's not likely to gain me much speed.

Thanks -d
