Duh! <slap forehead> Yes, I did. I will try changing that in a bit, but I'm

In my defense :), I guess I figured that as long as I had the PS/2 mouse
(and therefore its use of IRQ12) disabled in the system bios, the kernel's
ps/2 mouse driver would be smart enough not to load, or at least not take
up any resources. I guess that assumption was unwarranted.
LATER EDIT:
Well, it was a _very_ good idea. :) Unfortunately, it didn't work. :( I
removed PS/2 support (in fact, _all_ mouse support - don't need it for a
firewall) from the kernel, and eth2 _still_ comes up missing in my 2.2.17
kernel. (BTW, the ps/2 mouse is port is disabled in the bios, and IRQ12
shows up in /proc/interrupts as unused and available after the boot.)
Ideas?
